More Than 50 Workers Sent to Quarantine Center Among Nearly 300 Cambodians Repatriated by Thai Authorities

BATTAMBANG: The 819th Border Police Battalion, in cooperation with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the medical team, have received nearly 300 Cambodian workers who were arrested by the Thai authorities and sent back to their hometowns through the border checkpoint O Anlak of Kamrieng district.

The Commander of the 819th Border Police Battalio, Colonel Mansy, has said that on Sunday, 6 February,he has assigned the O'Anlok Post Force in cooperation with the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and a team of doctors to accept total of 266 Cambodian workers that were arrested by the Thai side through the O'Anlok border checkpoint in O'Anlok village, Ta Sen commune, Kamrieng district.

 He said that a total of 266 Cambodian workers were returned to the Cambodian authorities by the Thai authorities, including 109 women and 42 children, who were quickly tested for the Covid 19 virus, majority has tested negative, aside from 51 workers, 21 women and 6 children were sent to quarantine center at Mondul Kilo 9, Sampov Loun district.

Separately, 215 Cambodian workers with vaccination cards, 88 women and 36 children, were educated by doctors to prevent Covid-19 infection and allowed them to return home.
